Knowledge Management or commonly referred to as KM is a process that helps the organization to manipulate the knowledge and important experience that exist within the organization, usually in a compiled format. The main purpose of knowledge management is that knowledge and experience can be shared with each other within the organization.
In order for the organization to be a success, knowledge management must exist so that individuals in the organization can exchange information and knowledge management should also be developed. Information is very important in the role of decision-making in an organization in the process of decision-making in need of information, but most organizations difficulty in obtaining relevant data to support decision-making this problem occurs organizational piety that does not understand what the chest needs to make decisions and can also impacts the company’s operational processes.
The need to build Knowledge Management which is increasingly high today determines the survival strength of an organization, both organizations that aim to find profit and nonprofit.
Knowledge Management consists of activities within the organization that include identifying, creating, distributing and implementing existing experiences and increasing insights from existing knowledge. This is because knowledge and insight must be embedded within every individual who becomes an internal part to run the organization.
Knowledge Management also has a useful role to enhance the competitiveness and work efficiency of the organization concerned. In the information ero need to realize that the flow of Knowledge into and out of the organization very quickly by utilizing highly advanced technology at this time through telecommunications media.
Many organizations use Knowledge Management as a means of supporting effective knowledge empowerment processes will involve many elements such as human, culture, process, leadership and technology.
